SPRING BREAK!

Yes, finally! Spring break is here.. Spring break is always an exciting time for me because 1) a whole week off of school and 2) MY BIRTHDAY! It's a double whammy of goodness. Since I'll be going to Austin and San Antonio for my birthday/spring break, I had a little pre-birthday dinner with my mom and brother.. My dad was at a company softball game, hahaha.. It's funny how serious they take it. Since my dad couldn't make the dinner, I won't be here on my birthday, and his birthday is coming up as well, we decided to have a combined birthday dinner after I get back from Austin/San Antonio. Hahahaha, so many dinners! My actual birthday dinner is on sunday, lol. I get 3 celebrations this year :) Anywho, here is my dinner outfit.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of enthusiasm in my face.. My mom is THE WORST photographer ever.. It took her forever to press the button. She would hold the button down to focus and keep focusing for a good 45 seconds and then finally press down for the camera to actually take the picture.. NEVER. AGAIN.

I've been dying to wear these! And now I finally had a chance to :)
Top: H&M
Blazer: I forgot...
Black jeans: Urban outfitters

This week is going by S-L-O-W.

Even though it's only Tuesday, I feel this week trudging by since next week is spring break! :) And my birthday is on Sunday! Double whammy, woohoo! Well, since I have my history mid-term Thursday, I should probably go study, so here's a quick post of my outfit today!

I started off wearing my favorite denim jacket today, but after walking outside in freaking humid 80 degree weather, I decided to ditch it :b I found these glasses stuffed in my backpack somewhere so I decided to put them on, hahaha.

Surprise! There's a hood!
Pockets make everything better :)
Zipper tights & my self studded leather converse :)

Sooo, I would have ditched the tights as well, but this dress rides up sometimes and I don't wanna be flashing my panties to everyone on campus! So I sucked it up, hahaha.

Dress: Gap
Denim jacket: Target
Zipper tights: Marshalls
Watch: Bulova
Beaded bracelet: Forever 21
Necklace: Vintage
Shoes: Converse
Glasses: Forever 21

All pictures taken by my amazing boyfriend :)

Off to study!

I hate Mondays..

AND it was raining today.. The highlight of my day is when all my classes are over and I get all my homework done in time for my favorite TV shows :) I seriously plan my homework/workout schedule around my TV shows.. Lame, I know :b
Gossip Girl premieres tonight at 8, so I won't be missing that! And my new guilty pleasure is Kell on Earth.. Brilliant! It actually shows people working.. AHEM LAUREN CONRAD, WHITNEY PORT AHEM. Compared to The Hills and The City, these people get no sleep and work their asses off like craaaazy. Kudos to their hardwork! The show makes me appreciate all the details that go into a fashion show or a photoshoot.. So amazing.
Anywho, since it was raining today, I pulled out my trusty Target rainboots that have been put to good use this school year! Thanks, mom :) I remember when my rainboots didn't arrive yet, walking around on campus was a bitch! Now I can walk in puddles and I can cut across grass, lol. Without further ado, my outfit!

I love these tights & rainboots! <3

Close up of the heart tights.
Dress: Forgot the brand, TJ Maxx
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Socks: I have no idea where I got these..
Boots: Target!

These were taken during my lunch break in my apartment (I live on campus)
I was actually drinking green tea :b
"Chocolate! It's like men... The richer the better!"
Hahahaha, my favorite mug :) It came from a hot chocolate set.
My favorite snack! Bunny Grahams :) You know how when you were little your mom packed you lunch with your favorite snack? Well I wish I knew these existed back then, because I love them.. Nom nom!

What was your favorite snack when you were a little kid, and what is it now?

It's almost time for my marathon of TV shows! 'Till next time :)

What a lazy sunday..

But then again, sundays are always lazy. I woke up around 8:40 AM this morning thanks to my neighbors messing with their motorcycle.. I kept hearing it rev up for a good 20 minutes, so I just decided to wake up. Lo and behold, 5 minutes after I wake up, they stop, and I'm not the type of person who can go back to sleep after I've woken up. GRR! I needed some breakfast and we were running out of my homemade granola, so I decided to make more..

Granola straight out of the oven! :) Soooo good!

Then I added raisins, nom!

Granola is my favorite breakfast food.. Great way to start the day.

It was a pretty slow morning, then I got ready to go to my grandma's for a family lunch that we have every first sunday of each month. This was my outfit. Sorry for the dirty mirror! My full-length mirror is at school and I'm home every weekend, so expect ghetto-fab outfit pictures like this on weekends hahaha.

My dad was rushing me, and I'm REALLY slow in the mornings.. So I just threw this outfit on. Wrinkly shirts FTW!
Top: Prototype
Jeans: BDG
Bag: Jack Rabbit
Watch: Bulova
Camera (if anyone cares.. hahaha): Canon PowerShot SD 750
Shoes: Goodwill (the ones I was talking about in the previous post)
Check out my chictopia!

I am in love with these shoes.. Sorry for the blurry-ness. The pictures don't do them justice. I seriously don't think that anyone's worn them EVER.
These are the tops of the shoes, again blurry.. Sorry, lol.

This is my obsession of the moment.. My Jack Rabbit bag! It's bigger than I thought, but I love it.. I've been wearing it everywhere since I got it 2 weeks ago. It's so unique! The straps are adjustable, and the flaps have zipper details on either side of them and it opens to a pocket.. And there are little tiny studs on the edges as well.

Up close.

I am in love. The leather is super, super soft.. I have no complaints about this bag!

Anywho, I'm off to clean my room.. Ever since I started college it's like it's become a storage for my clothes.. I literally have a pile of clothes on my bed.. Not good! Until next time!

Quick update

Hi, everyone! I just got back from a 5k/3mi run for Stride for Stroke. I'm not much of a runner, but I ran 2 miles and power-walked one, so I'm pretty happy :) I'll update more later.

//EDIT//

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to see Alice in Wonderland. It was amazing! If you don't watch it, you're really missing out.. Unfortunately, I didn't see it in 3-D, but I plan to soon! Anywho, before seeing Alice in Wonderland, my boyfriend and I donated some clothes to Goodwill, and I got these cute wedge shoes for $2.99! I don't think they've ever been worn.. I'll be sure to wear them soon so I can take pictures. :) After Goodwill, we went to one of my favorite places to eat.. Sweet Tomatoes! I. Freaking. Love. Salad. Not only do they have great salad, they have yummy baked treats.. Blueberry muffins, hollaaaa!

Before I go on, here was my outfit of the day for a casual lunch and movie.

Sorry for the awkward pose, I'm never ready...
Top: Forgot the brand.. Got it from Tj Maxx?
Jeans: Silver
Shoes: Minnetonka
Bag that is half my bodysize: Jack Rabbit
Accessories: Bulova watch (I call this my faux Rolex, lol), forever21 cross necklace, Karl Lagerfeld sunnies
Those Karl Lagerfeld sunnies were such a bargain! Reg. price is $150+, but I got them for $30 :)

For those of you who don't know what Sweet Tomatoes is, it's a buffet with a huuuuge salad bar accompanied with at least 5 different kinds of soup, muffins, bread, pasta, fruit, and frozen yogurt! All the things my heart desires :) It is also very vegetarian-friendly!

I love how you can build your own salad.. All the ingredients are fresh and There is a wide variety of salad dressings as well.
This is my boyfriend's salad.. Which is the perfect example of how NOT to make a salad.. Hahahaha

My salad.. "Your salad is neat because you're a girl!"

LOOK AT THIS; GRILLED CHEESE FOCACCIA. I had to stop myself before I ate too many!

After a VERY filling lunch, my boyfriend and I headed towards the movies and got lucky because there was a showing of Alice in Wonderland that was about to start :) It took us a while to decide whether or not to see it in 3-D.. "You have to see it in 3-D, it's Johnny Depp!" - The ticket lady. Hahahaha, but I remember seeing a 3-D movie about sardines (don't ask) and I was getting sick... But then again, it was i-max.. Oh well, I don't regret not seeing Alice in Wonderland in 3-D. I mean, what if I got sick and didn't enjoy the movie as much as I did?! I'll just go back to see it later.. :b

In lieu of Alice in Wonderland, I am in love with the Tom Bins Disney Couture jewelry pieces..

Images via fredflare.com (top) & zappos.com (bottom)
I've always loved the Disney Couture line, but WHY IS IT SO DAMN EXPENSIVE?! The Tea Party necklace is $900. No, you are not reading it incorrectly. Yes, I said $900. I love Tom Binns' jewelry.. It's so eclectic. I remember I was lusting over a floral cuff for the longest time, and I would go look at it everyday.. Anyway, back to the topic, I love the chunky, cluttered, but clean (does that even make sense?! hahaha) look of these two pieces. They'd pair perfectly together. Ahhh, and it's such a nice springtime accessory, especially with the pastel colors. If you want more details, click here for the necklace, and here for the bracelet.

Did you ever obsess over an expensive accessory or item of clothing? If so, what drove you so crazy?

TGIT!

Currently watching The Real Housewives of Orange County.. Another guilty pleasure.. Hahaha.

I say TGIT with a tremendous amount of joy! Why? I don't have classes Friday :) I guess I just get blessed when I choose my classes because last semester I didn't have classes Friday either.. Hehehe. So what do I do after I finish my homework every Thursday? Online window shopping of course! Every free minute of my life (okay, exaggeration.. maybe..)

I am constantly window shopping, trying to find the best prices. I practically know the whole inventory of the Urban Outfitters website.. Funny story.. I saw a pair of shorts online for $15, but they didn't have my size, and when I went to the store, they only had ONE left and it was in MY SIZE!!!! But it was marked as $48. I snatched it, ran to the cashier, and told the guy that online these shorts were $15! He looked it up, and gave it to me for $15 :) All the time spent browsing online saved me $$$$$. It just goes to show, that time is money saved.. Hahahaha.

What is your favorite webstore to browse, and what is the best deal you've ever gotten?

I just got a butt-lift.

Say Whaaaaaat?!?! Yeah, you heard me. I finally worked out today.. And my go-to machine is ALWAYS the elliptical! It does wonders on the butt, and seriously, it gives you a butt-lift! No joke! This machine has wonderful benefits..
Image via Google Images
1. It works your legs. As in all parts of your legs, and if you want to target a specific area, you just have to change the level.. So easy and efficient!
2. Best. Cardio. Ever. Honestly, in my opinion, you work harder than if you were to run on the treadmill. I HATE the treadmill.. More on that later.
3. BOOTY LIFT!!! It firms your butt and lifts it.. I can't put it any simpler; it does wonders for your butt!

The reason I hate the treadmill is because I hate running at a set speed and it doesn't feel as intense as the elliptical. With the elliptical, I always feel so much stronger after an intense 65 minutes.

Today I did "sprints" on the elliptical. Intense. I always, always, always, do level 6 on the elliptical because it's the level which works your entire legs. On a typical day, I usually just pedal really fast on the resistance level 1-3, but today I wanted to try something different, so I did my usual level 6, but instead of keeping the resistance at 1-3, I sprinted on resistance level 3 for about 1-3 minutes and then pedaled moderately on resistance level 6-7 for 2-3 minutes, for a total of 65 minutes. Was that confusing? Hahahaha, it sounded good in my head.. Sorry if that was confusing, I'm watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Don't deny how addicting it is! :b

What is your go-to machine when you go to the gym?
--------------------------------------------------

Anyone who knows me knows I adore Alexa Chung. That woman has the best shoes, coats, bags, jewelry, EVER! She is the whole package of street chic, and she always pulls off award/red carpet looks well, but still retaining that grunge essence. And I notice that she wears a lot of booties. I have a freaking fetish for booties.. When I lust over some shoes, my mom is always saying, booties again?! Yes.. bootie girl forever :)
Anywho, Alexa Chung's style is aaaaahhhmazing. I saw a picture of her on the red carpet wearing this beautiful pink Luella dress. I loved everything about that look, and I made my prom dress based on the look, hehehe. Pictures later, perhaps.

This is one of my favorite looks from Alexa. That Mulberry bag is to die for! It was inspired by her! It's the Mulberry 'Alexa' bag. Totally want one...

(Above images were saved by me a while back, so I'm not sure where they came from; most likely, TFS)
I remember watching It's On With Alexa Chung and saw her wearing these beautiful Chanel mary janes. For all you frugalistas (like myself!) out there, I reccomend these Nine West double strap mary janes.

Image via ebay.com
Unfortunately, they are past season, so they're hard to find.. But here's the link! There is another easier-to-find pair that is similar, but there is only one strap and the heel looks lower. Here's the link for that.

My picks for the day are these Topshop tapered ruched trousers and these Bebe snake peep toe pumps.

Image via topshop.com
These are great because I HATE the harem pants.. It looks like you have pants full of shit on, but these are a great alternative for anyone who likes the non-diaper look. These babies are $80, yikes! But these can definitely be a staple item in your wardrobe, so I think it's worth the investment.. And the sizes are limited now! So you should hurry! Click here for these amazing trousers.

Image via bebe.com
The structure of this heel is unique and I like the combination of this natural snakeskin color with the wooden heels. I definitely believe these are only worth the splurge if you really want to treat yourself. Other than that, I'd say wait 'till it goes on sale! It is really tempting though.. If you need these now, click here.

I'm off to bed now! Starting tomorrow I'm going to try to start working out in the morning because after all my classes I just want to lay in bed and watch TV, lol. Good night, everyone!

XOXO, Allison.

March 2, 2010

Spring is just around the corner..

That being said, I'm currently drooling over nude pumps, nude clothing, etc. Spring is the time to get out of the dark color palette of blacks and grays, but not totally bombarding your wardrobe with color. It's a time of transition into the realm of color, and nudes and soft colors are the best way to update your winter wardrobe.

For TWO freaking long-ish years, I've been lusting these 80%20 Sadie Cork Wedges..
Image via 80spurple.com
And they are never in my size.... I have tiny baby feet. They are the perfect spring/summer look and the eggplant color is perfect for that transition from winter to spring. The canary yellow one is ideal for a more summery look. I LOVE THIS EGGPLANT COLOR. Seeing these makes me want some eggplant.. Mmmm.. If you're a size 10, click here for the link.

Moving on, still from 80%20, are the Bonnie Wedges. I know, I know, clogs are totally the look for spring because the great Karl Lagerfeld showed them in the Chanel show, but clogs are not my thing. Karl can do no wrong in my book, but I refuse to conform to clogs! Wedges are a staple for spring/summer. Anywho, here are the mouthwatering Bonnie Wedges..

Image via edgeofurge.com
AMAZING, RIGHT? These would look killer paired with ANY outfit from the Etro spring/summer 2010 collection.. These babies are $124, which are expensive in my book, but if you can't wait for the price to go down, click here for the link.

Aaaaand my last lustful delight.. The Nine West Bonfire Pumps.. AND YES, I WANT THEM IN CORK! Hahahaha.. I just think cork is a nice look for spring.. A nude-ish color with a twist. I saw these in the Nine West store with my best friend last weekend and I FELL IN LOVE.

Image via ninewest.com
Words cannot describe how in love I am with these.. So I won't even attempt to describe them.. Just look at them, and they say it all. To get these amazing pumps, click here.

And so, I end this post because I should be using my writing skills on my English paper that's due tomorrow..
